Happy Birthday Gray Court

Residents of the town of Gray Court recently gathered for a special occasion. The town, which was incorporated in 1899, was celebrating its 112th birthday!

The founding family of Gray Court was the Dorroh family. The family had a stage coach, an inn and a post office. They also started the Gray Court Presbyterian Church, or Dorroh Presbyterian Church, and the Gray Court Cemetery.

The town was originally called Dorrohville, but the town voted to change its name to Gray Court when it was incorporated in 1899. The town was named after the Gray family who resided there.
